Services for Schools - including Private and Boarding schools.
Schools and families sometimes worry when children and young people are either highly disruptive or unusually withdrawn. There can be a concern that these difficulties will significantly impact a child's capacity to learn and develop. These behaviours often mask the child's underlying worries and difficulties in their emotional world. Psychoanalytic psychotherapy can help children and young people unlock what lies underneath their difficulties and understand themselves better. In doing so, they become less preoccupied, freeing them to concentrate and increase their capacity to learn and make better use of opportunities at school.
I offer various therapeutic services to primary and secondary schools local to Bath and surrounding areas, including independent schools, preparatory and boarding schools.
I provide therapy to children and young people, support sessions for parents, child-parent work, supervision, and consultation to school staff. I also run staff groups to think about children causing the most concern.
